Airplane and Travel Inspired Cake Smash in Fredericksburg, VA

David is such a special little boy to me. You might remember my assistant, Kristina - this is her little guy! I have loved watching him grow up and capturing his milestones throughout this first year. He’s such a happy baby!! Although I seriously can’t believe he’s a year old (well, a bit more now!), I was so happy when she messaged me about getting a cake smash set up for him. Since his newborn session had a bit of travel inspiration (like his nursery too!), we decided to go with a travel theme. We went back and forth on ideas and colors but I love the blues, reds, and yellows we decided on. Kristina brought along a custom made birthday shirt for David for his non-cake smashing photos. Parents, for every cake smash I do, I always make sure to take some non-smashing photos so you have a clean baby in a nice few portraits! For David, I also snapped a few Christmas photos since he’s a winter baby. Even though it’s spring now… they’re just too cute not to share!

His cake was brought in by Kristina and her mom too. David has food allergies, so his grandmother made that cake for him! Amazing, right?
