Toddler Goes to Prom! | Fredericksburg/Stafford, Va Maternity, Newborn and Cake Smash Photographer
A few months ago, Kelly Blumenthal (Finns Mom) made a post about Finn having a Tux and saying how he's all ready for an upcoming event. In the post Finn was dressed to the nines in his toddler tux with coordinating bow tie and accessories. Taylor Schafer saw this post which was posted on Finns "Prayers for Finn page " and she decided to ask him to prom. Now some of you may be thinking hmm well thats a little odd.. but what you might not know is that Finn has CHD Congenital Heart Disease and much like other diseases or complications we never truly know how long we have or how many milestones well get to experience in our lifetime. This up coming fall Finn will undergo a very invasive and much needed heart surgery. I know as a mother of 2 theres nothing I wouldn't do to see my child experience milestones or moments that are not necessarily promised.
A few short weeks later Taylor asked Finn to Prom via the Chick-Fila sign off Rte.17 in Stafford, VA. And of course he said YES!! It was such a genuine gesture and sweet thing for Taylor to do. I know as a High school senior I was more focused on friends and my attire then to truly make a huge impact in her community like she did. Taylor is a wonderful and extremely caring person and to giver her something special in return Kelly teamed up with Mrs. Colorado (also known for her monologue and nurse scrubs) to give her a truly unforgettable senior prom experience. Kelly and Kelley teamed up through social media and Finns condition and since Kelley is a nurse the two had an instant friendship and the planning started.
Kelley Flew here to Va (bowling Green) just to surprise Taylor with makeup!! How cool is that to have a former Mrs. USA contestant and Mrs. Colorado doing your makeup!!! It was a truly amazing experience to watch Kelley glam up Taylor and make her feel like a complete princess for the day!! This was a unforgettable experience for me and Im sure for everyone else who was apart of this special day. Please enjoy some of my favorite shots from the day!
